Book Reviews - Exercise, Fitness, Diet and Nutrition

Book Reviews list my favorite references on exercise, fitness, diet and nutrition. I also have listed my favorites on brain health including meditation and mindfulness.

Every fitness program should be a combination of exercise and a proper diet.

A study conducted by the Columbia University Medical Center concluded that those who are physically active and eat a Mediterranean-type diet have a reduced Alzheimer's Disease risk by as much as 60%.

Another study conducted by the Duke Heart Center has shown that the combination of a good diet and regular exercise may help the mind function better. It appears that physical activity not only helps stimulate the connection between brain cells, but also helps to grow new brain cells.
