Books on Nutrition and Diet for the Healthy Home

Books on Nutrition and Diet for the healthy home are a list of my favorites on this topic.

My favorite vitamin work is different from the usual published works on that subject. This work is a practical guide to a select list of vitamins and supplements. In addition, each chapter includes a case study in the form of a short story telling how each remedy has improved someone's life.

The two diet and recipe works below will introduce you to some healthy foods that most Americans do not know about. They also will help you make Mediterranean style meals that will add a healthy and delicious variety to your table.

The Mediterranean Vegan Kitchen (Amazon.com Link) by Donna Klein is a great recipe collection. It includes Mediterranean style recipes for

  • Appetizers
  • Soups
  • Salads
  • Pasta, Rice, and Other Grains
  • Vegetables and Legumes
  • Breads
  • Desserts
  • And Meals in Minutes

This book inspired me to start my own basal and rosemary garden. The recipes are easy, and the food is delicious. A must to help you bring the Mediterranean cuisine to your table.

The Omega Diet: The Lifesaving Nutritional Program Based on the Diet of the Island of Crete (Amazon.com Link) by Artemis P. Simopoulos, M.D. and Jo Robinson taught me about green vegetables that I didn't know existed. How many of you have eaten purslane or even know what it is? It also has an extensive explanation on the various types of fats both good and bad.

In addition, this book explains how the Omega diet keeps us healthy. Included are also a wide list of recipes, and 3-week diet plan.

Vitamin Remedies That Really Work!: Safe Easy Directions for Healing and Preventing over 50 Common Conditions (Amazon.com Link) by Lynn Capehart helped me solve my gall stone problem without surgery with the proper use of Lecithin. I've been keeping this work close by for reference ever since.

In addition, are chapters on

  • Gingko Biloba and L-Glutamine
  • L-Cysteine and Vitamin C Complex In Combination
  • L-Lysine
  • Beta Carotene
  • Coenzyme Q10
  • Bee Pollen and Vitamin C Complex In Combination
  • Acidophilus
  • Rutin
  • Vitamin B12
  • And Magnesium Oxide
